China Glaze - Atlantis

Atlantis has been on my wishlist for over a year. Whenever I would make an online order it was the first one to be sacrificed for something "better." So a few weeks ago when I was ordering some new polish to replace the bad batch that I had gotten I decided to add it in. I'm so glad that I did! Atlantis is amazing!

Atlantis is a teal/green jelly jam packed with multi-colored holographic glitter. I used two coats and for the most part it was opaque. But going out today in the sun I noticed a little bit of visible nail line. And, unfortunately, I already have a huge chip on my middle finger on Day 2. Boo! It sure is pretty though!

Blurred to show the holographic goodness!
Sunlight.

Beautiful! I couldn't stop staring at my nails last night!

China Glaze - Hyper Haute

Today I have Hyper Haute from China Glaze's Tronica collection last year. I was stupid and hated Tron at that time (but have since changed my ways) so I didn't want to get very many colors. In fact, I got 2 and that's it. And now I deeply regret it because they're so pretty! Ugh, sucks. Oh well.

Hyper Haute is bright pink holographic polish with a great formula! It only took 2 coats and there were no bald patches which you can sometimes get from holographic polishes. It was chip-tastic though. I got crazy tip wear within the first day, and within 2 days I had a few chips. Nothing that I couldn't live with, but my base coat and top coat combo have spoiled me with barely any chips and manicures that last a long time! Anyways, here it is...this baby was hard to photograph.

If you click on this picture, the holo is more evident on my thumb.

Shade.

This polish was much more holo in real life. Nothing like previous holographic nail polishes, but enough that I really loved it and was pleasantly surprised. Either way, it's a pretty pink! Have you tried any holographic polishes?

Glitter Gal- Lizard Belly

I have heard nothing but amazing thing about this dark green holographic polish from Glitter Gal called Lizard Belly. Seriously, it seemed like every person who was in to nail polish had this. So, of course, I had to jump on the band wagon. And I'm so glad that I did! Glitter Gal is a another wonderful Australian brand. Maybe I should just move there, ha!

Lizard Belly is a very dark green, almost black. In fact, it's really hard to tell it's dark green unless you're in direct sunlight (and let's face it...you're wearing a holographic polish, of course you'll be in the sun 24/7!!!). And this baby is packed with holographic amazing-ness. Seriously, it is so pretty. But so hard to capture on film! But, I did my best with my camera, so here we go! Click on these pictures to make them bigger so you can really see the rainbows on each nail!

Seriously, every nail looked like that last bottle shot. So pretty, it was blinding! But in a good way! All of these photos were 2 coats and taken in the sun. I bought LB from Llarowe for $14 and she does ship almost everywhere! Just so you know this is a mini bottle, so you are paying a lot for a little bit of polish. I get impatient when I see something I like and don't look at all of the fine details so I was shocked to see how small it was. But totally worth it! Next time I'll probably layer it over a dark green (maybe NARS Zulu) to conserve the polish.

Klean Color - Bluebell

While browsing around eBay one day I came across a brand called Klean Color. And, of course, the most popular colors that were being sold were these chunky holographic colors. You say holographic and I'm on board! On eBay, they were going for $5-$10, which seemed a little high for a brand I had never even heard of. So, after some research, I found this site here that sold them for $1.75 each. DONE! So I bought six (I think...) and today I have the one that called out to me first: Chunky Holo Bluebell.

All of these photos are -
Pointer: 2 coats Bluebell
Middle/Pinky: 2 coats Bluebell over CG First Mate
Middle: 2 coats Bluebell over SH Black Out

As you can see, Bluebell is a sheer polish and best used for layering. Is it holographic? In my eyes, no. I see it as more of a duo/multi chrome chunky glitter. Do I love it? Yes! I love all of the colors that it brings to the nails, especially when layered.

Caution...these polishes SMELL. And I mean really, really bad! So if you have a weak nose I would suggest doing your nails in a very open and aired out space. I'll have more posts later with the other colors that I bought, and perhaps even a comparison coming up!

Franken #1

Hello all! So as a lot of you may have seen on Facebook, I decided to make some franken polishes! All this means is I mix together different polishes to come up with something unique (at least to me). I have a total of 4, so I figured each one deserved a post.

My first one is my favorite. The name? Raspberry Ritz. It's so pretty! It's a berry colored purple with a lot of fine glitter/shimmer in it. There's a little bit of holographic, red, silver and blue. The blue is also a duochrome flash. Really, it's a beautiful polish. But I'm horrible at explaining things, so let's just look: WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY!

Bottle shot in sunlight.

Blurred on purpose to show the holographic glitter.

Shows a bit of the blue duochrome flash.

Good shot of the blue flash.

Never did I imagine that the very first franken that I ever made would be in love with it. I thought I would horribly fail. But Raspberry Ritz is my favorite of the 4. All of these photos were 2 coats. Hope you enjoyed it! Have you tried to franken your own polish?
