I recently subscribed to the Soap Box from Fortune Cookie Soaps. I'll be doing a review on that sometime in the next week or so. But I went on their site to show my mom and was surprised to see a limited edition Tributes collection. I had to limit myself to 2 things...I ended up spending $5 because I had a coupon from the Soap Box. So I ended up buying another soap and a whipped cream (their version of body butter).
First up is the whipped cream, called Hunter Green which was inspired by Katniss. I love their whipped cream, it's so moisturizing and it doesn't leave an oily residue (unless you apply some and then put on some more 5 minutes later because you love the smell like I have...). And the scent lasts for a pretty long time, it lasted a couple of hours on me, which is longer than other lotions I've used from Bath and Body Works. There's a bit of a woodsy/pine/grass scent but it's not very strong. The main scent I get is a fresh cucumber-y springy smell. It's really a very neutral scent and doesn't impose on your nose (and I have a pretty sensitive nose). I really love it.
The second item that I bought was one of their soaps in Baker's Dozen, which was obviously inspired by Peeta. And I have to quote their description because it makes me laugh every time:
"We all have to admit Peeta is pretty delicious and oh-so-sweet! You know what else is delicious and sweet? A jelly filled donut! Somewhere in our wildest fantasies Peeta is in a sexy white chef suit serving us bedside with jelly filled donuts! He’s doing a lot more than that but that’s where it ends here! This signature fortune cookie soap is fragranced with lip-smacking jelly donuts that will have you smelling super sweet and feeling super clean!" (source).
Hahaha! Isn't that great? Anyways, this scent hit me really strong. And at first I didn't like it, partly because I couldn't place it. Finally I did. The red "glaze" on the soap smells like strawberries, while the rest of the soap smells like some sort of pancake for waffle, that sweet cooked batter/dough smell. It's starting to grow on me. I haven't used this actual soap yet, but I've used the one I got in the Soap Box and it works fairly well. I'm more of a fan of liquid soap, but this cleaned well and lathered up really well the first time I used it. Since then it hasn't lathered up as much but it's really not that big of a deal for me.
The whipped cream was $10.99 for 5 oz and the cookie soap was $3.49 (you can see the size in the picture where I'm holding it). Both of these can be purchased here. I'm really considering buying a few more things. If anyone wants to do a group order to save on shipping send me a message or something and we can work it out! And this is limited edition so once it's gone it's gone! Buy it while you can! Tune in tomorrow for the last 6 district inspired nail polish!
