I hope you have been enjoying my Hunger Games posts so far! Today I have the final 6 districts from China Glaze's collection. Tomorrow's post will be an interesting one. I don't usually do nail art so it's been quite the learning experience. But that's for tomorrow! Let's finish these districts!
District 7 (Lumber) - Mahogany Magic
Mahogany Magic is a milk chocolate brown creme. I was so worried that this would look dreadful on my because it's a warm brown and I have cool skin. This was 2 coats and the formula was a little bit runny. It also dried a little bit darker than it looks in the bottle. Doesn't look too bad though, right? Finally, a brown nail polish that I can keep. Now I just need a gold...
Mahogany Magic was originally called Baker's Son and was inspired by Peeta (and hey, it's the same name as Fortune Cookie Soap's Peeta inspired soap).
District 8 (Textiles) - Dress Me Up
Dress Me Up is a dusty rose pink creme. This one is a little bit too matchy-matchy with my skin tone so I'm not a total fan, but it's still a pretty polish. This was 2 coats and had a nice formula. It was almost a 1 coater! Sorry for the smudge on my middle finger! Dress Me Up also dries a little bit darker than the bottle.
Dress Me Up was originally called Primrose and was, obviously, inspired by Prim. I thought this was the perfect color for her.
District 9 (Grain) - Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon is a metallic copper with shimmer in it. Another color that I was afraid would clash with my skin tone, but it's not too bad. And, of course, I love the name because Harvest Moon is probably my absolute favorite game. This was 2 coats and the formula was lovely. Very quick drying!
Harvest Moon was originally called Cinna-mon and was inspired by Cinna's gold eyeliner. A little too copper, but still pretty.

District 10 (Livestock) - Foie Gras
Foie Gras is a mauve creme. But on me it looks really grey. But in real life (and away from my hands) there is definitely some purple in there. Foie Gras had a runny formula but still managed to cover well in 2 coats.
Foie Gras was originally called Rebel and was inspired by Gale.
District 11 (Agriculture) - Agro
Agro is an olive green with some gold shimmer. This one was surprising for me, I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. It has a foil-like tendency to show a few brushstokes, but it's nowhere near the same as Hook and Line (thankfully). Agro covered well in 2 coats, but also was almost a 1 coater!
Agro was originally called We Could Runaway and was inspired by the forest that Gale and Katniss hunt in. Perfect mossy green.
District 12 (Mining) - Smoke and Ashes
Smoke and Ashes. I hated this polish the first time that I wore it. The shimmer was nowhere to be seen and it looked like a black nail polish. How boring. Don't believe me? Take a look:
This was in direct sunlight and there was barely anything to be seen. I was so upset! So if you get this polish, shake it like crazy! It wakes up the glitter and makes it look like the photos above (not the black one). Anyways, Smoke and Ashes is a 1 coater! Hooray, so many 1 coaters in this collection it's great! Smoke and Ashes is a dark blue-black base with blue-green shimmer (almost like the glass fleck a few others had). The shimmer is a little bit duochrome-y as well, so it shifts colors depending on the angle and the light. Beautiful polish.
Smoke and Ashes was originally called Fight to the Finish and was inspired by the night sky that the tributes look into. Perfect.
Tomorrow I'll have some nail art that I worked really hard on, but I can't promise perfection. So don't judge! See you tomorrow!
